The Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz) announced today three open tenders for the right to provide third-generation (3G) communication services using the bands 1935-1950 MHz, 201002015 MHz, 2125-2140 MHz. The size of the license fee was determined - 2.64 million rubles (about $ 100 thousand). For comparison, in the West, similar fees in the early 2000s amounted to billions of dollars.
According to Interfax , the winners of the competition should start the service no later than 2 years from the date of the decision to issue a license. Applications for participation will be accepted from January 16 to February 26, 2007. Russian companies and individual entrepreneurs are admitted to it.
