Three weeks later, on December 6-7, the “cloudy localhost”
Koding conducts an
online hackathon , which you can participate in from anywhere in the world. The organizers insist that this is the first hackathon in the world in this format, but it is hard to believe.
In any case, the event looks interesting.

During the hackathon, participants (requests from programmers and designers are accepted) will be given a list of topics from which to choose one and create an appropriate application based on open data and API. However, the organizers have already indicated an approximate focus: global finance, education, health, climate change, travel, etc. In my opinion, you can add anything to this list.

The developers of the best applications are promised cash prizes: Koding allocated $ 10,000 to the prize fund, Turkcell added $ 5,000, and the best freelance team with accounts on Elance.com or oDesk.com will receive another $ 2,500.
There are also special partners who are willing to give away $ 1,000 to the teams that use their API -
PubNub ,
Datadog and
Sprintly .
It is worth registering now: applications are accepted until November 21, but the number of seats is limited to 1,000 teams, and half the seats are already taken. The organizers say that participants from all continents are already registered (it is interesting to look at Antarctica programmers, of course).
Apply for the whole team or as an individual member of the hackathon; in the latter case, partners will have to be assembled in the process of preparation already at Koding.
If you want to participate and find a Russian-speaking team - write in a comment describing your skills and wishes.
Successful

hackathon!
