Today I read Goldratt's book Critical Chain, and experienced a real paradigm shift. Unfortunately, I did not find its Russian edition, I read it in electronic form in English (you can find
it here , for example).
So, friends, “Critical Chain” is a wonderful book, written in a very light artistic language, which made me take a different look at what I do and how to manage projects.
In general, I went to study this theory for quite a long time (I sprinkle ashes on my head). You know, this usually happens in the following way: I heard somewhere that there is an interesting theory (
Theory of Constraints, TOC ) that allows you to look at management in the broadest sense of the word in a completely different way.
')
Then I saw a
presentation by Andrei Stepenko about the theory of constraints in relation to project management, and I thought that it would be nice to read the authors of the theory in the original. Andrei, by the way, deals with this issue quite professionally - this is the
company in which he works.
In addition,
ailev added fuel to the fire, which periodically in his blog gives very interesting links, including TOC and CCPM (Critical Chain Project Management).
Moreover, periodically there are very
interesting discussions about how TOC can be used in real life.
Now, I started studying a book on CCPM, which is called
“Critical Chain Project Management” .
After reading the book, many interesting thoughts are being digested in my head, I will try to organize and share them with you.
If one of the readers knows how TOC is used in real Russian life, share.
