Novell lead programmer leaves the company in protest

Lead programmer Jeremy Allison (Jeremy Allison) resigned from Novell in protest against her collaboration with Microsoft , reports News.com . Allison argues that the agreement that Microsoft will have no complaints about open-source developers is detrimental to the relationship between Linux distributors and the open-source community.

Jeremy Ellison notes that the collaboration between Microsoft and Novell violates the principle of equality of rights, which the entire open-source community follows. Agreements between companies do not simply violate the rights of Novell competitors: they protect far from all users and programmers working on Linux.

The programmer goes to Google, where he continues to work on the Samba project (this software allows Linux servers to distribute files through Windows networks). As you know, Google is actively using open-source applications in its work.
