OpenWRT is an alternative firmware for network devices (routers). Fortunately, we have long been familiar with OpenWRT and its capabilities, but somehow it happened that we missed the release of a new version of this wonderful product.

Linux kernel updated to version 3.10;
A new procd initialization system designed specifically for the needs of the distribution;
IPv6 support out of the box;
file system: support for sysupgrade on NAND-memory, creating snapshots and the ability to roll back on them, the system for mounting rootfs and block devices is copied to C;
UCI (Unified Configuration Interface): the ability to create a configuration for testing and rolling back to a worker in case of failure, memorizing the last successful configuration, improved restarting daemons on demand, added validation of the entered data;
network: netifd now handles the creation and modification of wireless interface settings, redesigned support for outdated hotplug scripts, added support for dynamic rules and firewall zones, added support for transparent multicast to unicast for breeches;
DS-Lite support, various improvements in 6to4, 6in4 and 6rd-support, experimental support for Lightweight 4over6, MAP-E and MAP-T, support for HNCP (self-managing home networks) standard added as part of the expansion of IPv6 support;
rpcd: new JSONRPC over HTTP frontend, providing remote access to ubus;
New lightweight daemon mdns (in development);
initial support for Musl (standard C library, developed as an alternative to Glibc);
support for 3g / 4g QMI modems;
DNSSEC support;
added packet signing mechanism.
To all this, the developers have finally opened a new repository, where there will already be updated packages and with fixed bugs - as in the old rep. there was a mess and no one wanted to rake him.
