Welcome to Moscow Django Meetup and Moscow.pm November 6

This Thursday, November 6, in the office of the Mail.Ru Group will be held two meetings of developers at once. As they say, in crowded, but not mad.

Firstly, we invite everyone to the next meeting of the Moscow Django Meetup. It will begin at 19.00. This time the program is especially varied.

The meeting will be opened by the speech of Vladimir Yunev , Microsoft strategic technology expert, certified application developer. He will present a report on “Django and Python in the Azure Cloud — how, why, where to start?” Within his framework, Vladimir will talk about the capabilities and benefits of Microsoft Azure public clouds technology in terms of hosting projects in Python and Django, about the merits and disadvantages of cloud hosting projects as such. Moreover, this issue will be considered in the context of the PaaS-model, as well as the configuration of virtual machines and its own Linux-based infrastructure (IaaS-model).

After the speech, Vladimir will begin a block of so-called lightning-talk'ov, short 5-minute speeches about various convenient and practical tools for developers, useful hacks.

The second meeting, scheduled for November 6, is Moscow.pm. Its beginning is scheduled for 19.30. This time there will be three reports:

Pavel Scherbinin , Team lead News Mail.Ru and Hi-Tech Mail.Ru, will tell about the results of the recently held Let's Play Golf contest. He will analyze several of the most interesting solutions to the problems presented by the participants, as well as award the winners of the competition.

Ruslan Zakirov , team lead team of Perl-development of Sports.ru, titled his speech "On the porch one sat Perl, PHP, Python and JS". Poetic, you do not find? Ruslan will talk about the features and difficulties that the developers from Sports.ru encountered during the creation of the back-end and front-end interaction mechanisms, and “like PPP on back-ends did not quarrel with each other”.

Vadim Pushtayev , Mail.Ru Search programmer, in his report “Perl Now” will talk about how Perl is used today and why it does not look like the Perl that everybody is used to thinking about. It will highlight the main ideological approaches, as well as consider the modules and methods of working with them, without which it is difficult to imagine modern Perl. The report will concern the development using OOP, work with databases, organization of testing and style of writing code. The author will try to convey the experience of everyday long-term use of the language, showing exactly how to handle the tools available to Barley.
