Siemens transmitted data faster than anyone.

Siemens announced a new data transfer speed record: according to AlgoNet , the company's specialists managed to transfer information over an optical channel to a distance of about 100 miles (161 km) at a speed of 107 Gbit / s. This is 2.5 times faster than the previous channel bandwidth record.

Siemens specialists, who used only electric means, believe that the advantage of the method developed by them is that there is no need to separate the signals into slightly slower streams to avoid jams - this ultimately slows down the speed, and also requires the use of more expensive equipment.
