Half a million IIS servers came under attack

The Internet is spreading an epidemic of a new virus that exploits a vulnerability in the popular Microsoft Internet Information Server. From infected sites redirect to a site with malicious code.

It looks like the epidemic is becoming global. First, the antivirus company Panda Security drew attention to this, which estimated the number of affected IIS servers at 282 thousand, but within a day, F-Secure raised the bar to 500 thousand. Actually, the same picture shows a search through Google.



Experts warn: if earlier, in order to avoid contagion, it was necessary to refrain from visiting questionable sites, but now you can pick up a Trojan even when visiting a very respectable site on which IIS is installed.
