European expertise for Russian startups: acceleration from FaberNovel with the support of RVC



Today we decided to talk about a two-week acceleration program in the leading innovation center of Paris, which we are conducting together with RVC, and in which Russian IT start-ups can take part. The program will be held from December 1 to December 12, 2014: all this time, startups will live in Paris, work in one of the best co-working centers in France, study at various workshops - starting with the foundations of Lean Startup and the Growth Hacking technologies and ending with communication with one of the famous technology experts, entrepreneurs and venture investors in France (not to mention representatives from European incubators and venture funds).

For whom this program is invented?


For young IT teams with projects at the stage of sowing / start-up and, above all, their founders, it is important for them to expand their network of professional contacts, evaluate their project, enlist the opinion and support of leading European experts, as well as understand how the innovation ecosystem works. overseas, build relationships with the venture community.

What is the purpose of the program?


It is worth taking part in the program in order to: form a strategic vision of the project, find partners and potential investors, understand the principles of the development of the global technology business, assess the possibilities for landing a company in Europe, dive into the innovation ecosystem.

What will happen?


Each of the 12 days of the program (with the exception of two days off) participants will take part in workshops, listen to lectures, chat with experts and attend conferences. Throughout the acceleration program, startups will operate in the open NUMA accelerator in Paris.

NUMA is the first co-working of Paris; it was opened in 2008. Now NUMA is the country's largest innovation hub. Each program participant will be allocated a workplace and unrestricted access to the infrastructure of the innovation center. There is enough space in coworking for everyone: it occupies 6 floors with a total area of ​​1500m2, has 200 startups and accommodates 40,000 visitors.

All types of learning activities within the program can be divided into the following blocks:

Thematic sessions

Tech playground

As part of this training session, participants will become familiar with the technologies that influence the emergence of a new customer experience and a new generation of users. During the session, FaberNovel experts will present promising technologies and talk about their impact on building a business. Tech playground includes a practical part, where participants will be able to test promising gadgets and technologies. As part of the training, 2 types of technologies will be considered:

Lean startup

This session will help startups explore the lean startup methodology for a quick product launch without large initial investments. The founders of this methodology is Eric Rice.

Grow hacking

This is an educational session to study the tools of explosive growth of a startup. During the session, the experts will analyze case studies and growth hacker best practices, and the participants will analyze the most effective methods to attract customers and will be trained on a test site together with experts from the FaberNovel Institute.

Big data

The Big Data workshop implies an immersion in the most important modern trend and Big Data technologies. During the workshop, participants will explore the main scenarios for the use of Big Data, get acquainted with the available technologies and experiment with their own training project.

In addition to the thematic sessions, the program includes meetings with FaberNovel partners . In the course of their own sessions, each of them will share with the projects insights on the subject matter for the expert. For example, FaberNovel Vice President Kirill Warth (he controls the implementation of business planning and corporate development projects for FaberNovel clients, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Michelin, and many others ), will talk about the principles for developing an effective company strategy. He will work with startups in the area of ​​value proposition and business positioning.

Benoit Talabo, a designer whose projects (such as, for example, Monet 2010 ) have gained worldwide recognition, will tell startups about design and UX and help them improve the design of their service or product. Marie-Caroline Lanfranchi is responsible for launching innovative projects and managing research at FaberNovel. As part of her session, she will assist participants in managing their processes for quick and effective product launches.

Acceleration Program Representatives

As part of the program, participants will get acquainted with the 50 Partners Foundation (this is a preparatory fund that helps startups to formalize their value proposition and attract professional venture capital) and its industry experts. In addition, startups will communicate with the Le Camping accelerator mentors, who will share their industry expertise with the teams.

Meetings with the community (serial entrepreneurs, start-ups, venture investors)

The program also includes meetings with the innovation community. During these meetings, participants will talk with local entrepreneurs and explore innovative trends in Paris. During the program, participants will also meet with venture capital investors, including representatives of government funds, as well as existing start-up support programs.

Special events

One of the days of the program will be devoted to visiting API Days - a global conference dedicated to API technologies and how they affect the creation and development of the business of modern companies. During this conference, participants, workshops, presentations and panel discussions of leading industry speakers will also be available (API Days will be held in an old Parisian building built in 1784).

What is the result?


The program ends with Demo Day: project founders will participate in 5-minute pitches and answer questions from venture investors, successful entrepreneurs, including FaberNovel founder Stefan Distengen). This session involves training on project presentation to international investors, as well as receiving feedback from experts. During the event, start-ups will get acquainted with qualified investors and will receive contacts for further work on raising funds.

According to the results of the program, the teams will discuss further areas for joint work in finding partners, building relationships with large corporate players, obtaining high-quality expertise in markets and technologies.
