But there is a faster way - to apply all the necessary settings "in two clicks" - through the finished registry settings file. About system registry tweaks, system administrators should know. Surely many have their own set of settings collected in the * .reg file. With the help of tweaks, you can not only quickly set up a “clean” operating system, but also change the parameters of the working machine without reinstalling the OS.

I have compiled my * .reg registry tweaks file for several years. The basis was taken from the OSZone forum, but he added a lot of his own. Some tweaks were found empirically using RegShot 1.8.2. Also, something was found in the depths of the Microsoft documentation. I literally went through some registry branches and searched for information on unknown configuration keys. The main purpose of these tweaks is to increase speed, free up memory and create usability.

For those who do not know how to use: copy tweaks into a text file (you can not all, but always with the top line) and save. After the text file, you need to change the extension from * .txt to * .reg, and also note that some tweaks require Administrator rights.

Bonus: Moving user data.

By default, user data on computers running Windows 7 is stored in the C: \ Users \% username% folder, which is inconvenient. Inside the user's folder there are several sub-folders, which for some time, for “sloppy” users, “expand” considerably in volume. These folders are: Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, Images, Videos. I suggest immediately after reinstalling Windows to transfer these folders to the D: \ drive. Of course, you can do it manually - in the properties of each folder, change its location. And you can use my batch file, which will "carefully" copy all the contents to a new location and change the necessary registry settings.
