Birds are attacking quadrocopters: several attacks

Quadcopters are becoming increasingly popular. They are used for video filming in hard to reach places (not so long ago, a kopter helped to remove a volcanic eruption), for prospecting various places, for cargo delivery and other purposes. Drones is getting bigger.

Accordingly, the more quadcopters rise into the sky, the more various unusual situations and incidents happen. For example, quite often drones are attacked by birds. Yes, and not only by birds of prey, but also by quite peaceful birds: geese, ravens. Probably, soon we will have to invent some way to protect quadrocopters from birds, because the cost of equipment suspended from the copter often exceeds the cost of the copter itself.

One of the most significant cases of attacking birds on the copter happened recently: a couple of days ago a hawk attacked the device, launched by operator Christopher Schmidt. The operator has already heard about similar situations, so he managed to land the copter on the ground before it falls and crashes.



Less fortunate for another operator, whose copter was attacked by a group of birds that caused the crash of the aircraft.

In general, if you launch a copter, or other UAVs, be prepared for such incidents. Maybe someone has already created a protection system against birds, but for now the copters are defenseless.
