"How to do" vs. "How to do"

I often have to answer the questions of friends and girlfriends, and over time I noticed that they all memorize the work at the computer solely on icons and familiar inscriptions, without understanding the meaning at all. I have never met ordinary users who would understand “how to do” from the point of view of logic, and not actions like “move the mouse over there”.
One has only to change the color of the button or move it, a person falls into a stupor and calls the system administrator. It is especially joyful to hear something like “I first poke the mouse on there, and then there and in the window I press OK - nothing works!”.
I have never met the logical training of users on the computer.
Why not first learn to just find the text on the screen? Let's say learning is a game. To navigate the information available on the monitor. Often a person can not find the right phrase on the monitor, even if you tell him where it is and what color.
After that, explain the basics of algorithmization to them - decomposing the task into simpler actions. For example, to record a disc, you need to know what to record, have a blank disc and know that it will not be recorded exactly. Etc.
That is, to give a person the basics, and then force (or encourage) him to think with his head and through reasoning to get the desired result. Just like in programming.
