Does eBay change its strategy in China?

The Wall Street Journal , citing an anonymous source, reports that eBay is planning to close the Chinese version of eBay.com. In exchange, the company plans to open a new site - in collaboration with the Chinese Tom Online Inc.

It is assumed that eBay will own only 49% of the shares of the new company. A source close to the negotiations said that the deal would be officially announced this week. Representatives of eBay declined to comment on rumors.
