Communications Minister Nikiforov proposes to operators to increase prices for 4G tariffs
On Thursday at the meeting of the commission on telecommunications and information technologies, Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of Communications, stated that he considers the existing 4G tariffs too low, RBC Minister quoted as saying.

“One of the ideas about which I spoke quite openly to all the Big Three operators and others was that the launch of the next fourth generation network should be accompanied, oddly enough, by an increase in tariffs,” Nikiforova quotes Interfax. According to him, taking into account the competition, the operators "went below the baseboard": "Probably, I, as a minister, should not say this, but I think it should cost more."
In July 2012, according to the results of a competition organized by Roskomnadzor, four of the largest Russian operators, Rostelecom, MTS, Megafon and Vimpelcom, received LTE licenses. Under the terms of the competition, operators had to start providing LTE communication services from July 2013. In full mode, the network should earn from 2019. Today LTE is present in more than 70 regions of Russia.
