Solving the problem with Ubuntu Hardy (8.04, beta) and Photoshop CS2

Recently updated Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) to the Hardy Heron beta (8.04). After that, I fell off working under wine Photoshop CS2 (by the way, it is now installed without any “crutches”, out of the box). I will save you time and share the recipe.

Symptoms: When I try to start Photoshop, we get the error: “An error has been detected. Please reinstall the application. ” Actually, the above reinstall does not help.

Medicine: We open the console. and write:
')
#sudo sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr = 0

Now, without any reboot and shamanism, we launch Photoshop as usual and enjoy. This medicine is valid until the system is rebooted.

UPD: Mr 3al added some explanation to the above directive. For which he respect, uvazhuha plus in karma.
Disables mmap protection (possible errors in memory allocation in future versions of the kernel). Protection is irrelevant on the desktop (theoretically, there may be a loophole for rootkits, but until it appears and until it is used, under Photoshop CS 4 will work under Vain).
