iPhone 6 set a new sales record - but growth rates are falling

In just 3 days after the sales that began last Friday, 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have already sold out worldwide, the company’s official website writes . This is one million more than last year's record for the iPhone 5s and 5c smartphones, which in the first three days went up to nine million copies .

Apple CEO Tim Cook immediately stated that "sales have exceeded our expectations from the starting weekend, and we are happier nowhere."

The Apple tradition of reporting the results of the first three days of sales allows us to trace the story a little deeper: two years ago, the premiere three-day sales of a completely new iPhone 5 were 5 million units , and three years ago, in 2011, the iPhone 4s sold 4 million copies . Total - 150% increase in sales for 3 years. Not a bad result, although one could expect more from two completely new smartphones with enlarged displays. Perhaps the market is just saturated? We will see next year.
