Polite treatment on sites

One of the most common mistakes encountered on working sites, in mock-ups and in documents is the abuse of a capital letter in a polite address "You."

In fact, everything is very simple, and in this regard there is a clear established rule .
The pronouns “You”, “Your” are written with a capital letter when referring to one person in the texts of the following genres:
  1. personal message: a letter, a message on the forum, in a chat, in ICQ, etc. (the addressee is a specific person; in this case, the use of the pronoun “you” instead of “you” is an expression of politeness towards the addressee);
  2. official documents addressed to a specific person;
  3. questionnaires (the addressee is a non-specific person).
When addressing several individuals or an indefinite circle of persons (for example, when addressing the readership of a newspaper or magazine, when addressing site visitors , in an announcement addressed to a wide range of persons, etc.) the pronouns “you”, “your” are written with a lowercase letter.
At the same time, addressing “you” in a personal letter to a specific person is not an error and is considered author’s use, although it is not the norm.
