The problem of protection of private information in recent years is acute and is often discussed.
Someone is trying to run into Google, someone is erasing all of their data on LiveJournal and Facebook.
But I decided to look for myself in Google, suddenly there is something interesting.
And, to my surprise, I found ...
The search for the combination “Last Name, First Name, Patronymic” gave me on the first line a link to the website of my university, or rather to the website on which all graduates of SPSUITM are gathered.
And I found there is not a very pleasant and very amazing picture. On the page, in addition to the first name, last name, middle name, year of graduation from the university and the specialty, my home address and telephone number were published (and someone even had soap there). This was despite the fact that I never gave consent to the publication of these data on the network, as well as the question of the possibility of posting information from my personal file on the site from them.

Immediately I wrote a letter to them asking them to remove the information and hinting at the fact that for such a thing you can easily sue. My address and phone number were removed pretty quickly.
But the information of the other graduates hangs there. (I scattered a link to former classmates asking if they gave their consent to publish this data? .. We'll see if they react.)
How many home phone numbers and names like this can be collected from this site?
And what did these people ask when they decided to place this information from the personal files of former students on their website?
Ps. It is strange that the discs “The updated database of graduates of Russian universities with the year of graduation, specialties, a copy of the record, names, addresses and phone numbers” are not yet on sale in the metro))
Pps. It seems to be a respected university, which is in the first position in the field of information technology in Russia, it even contains one of the nodes of the university network of the RuNet, and here it is. It's a shame, honest word.
