Google introduced 100-dollar smartphones on Android One

Google Corporation for quite some time announced its intention to enter the smartphone market with low-end devices, the functionality of which would be comparable to the functionality of middle-class smartphones.

The other day the first smartphones on the Android One platform were presented , the price of which is 105 US dollars. First, these gadgets will be sold in India, through the company Micromax, Spice, and Karbonn. The characteristics of a “$ 100 smartphone” are quite interesting. This is a 4.5-inch display, 1 GB of RAM, a 1.3 GHz 4-core processor, a slot for microSD, two SIM card slots, wireless communication modules, and FM radio (where you can go without it).

The presented smartphones work on a clean OS, it was not customized by telecom operators. Thus, the update for the operating system, Google will be able to roll out their own, which will avoid the situation when the smartphone remains with the old version of the OS, because the developer loses interest in the device.

But this situation is typical not only for the segment of budget smartphones, but also for the flagships (remember, users of HTC Desire HD, Sony Xperia Play and some other ex-flagships were very indignant). Some companies, six months after the release of the new model, stop releasing updates, leaving users with something like functional devices.

Now, pure Android is installed on Nexus and Google Play, versions of gadgets, the firmware of which is updated constantly, with the release of each new version of Android OS.

After India, Google plans to enter South Asian markets, including Indonesia and the Philippines.
