Yandex has released a new version of Personal Search.
A new version of the free program “Yandex” “Personal search” has been released . Version 2.5 supports the search in the databases of TheBat! Mail client. In addition, the product offers a preliminary version of the API for creating additional extensions that allow searching in programs and files of various formats.
According to the company, the API allows you to add almost any module to the program for indexing an arbitrary data source, be it a file on a disk or a mail program database. To facilitate these tasks, the development kit includes documentation with examples of source texts of some new extensions - for example, parsers of text files of the DjVu format and letters of the TheBat! Mail client.
“The API allows you to make your personal search even more personal - if, of course, you or your friends know how to program,” says project manager Alexander Bykov. “Now we are offering a preliminary version of the API, it should help us understand what third-party developers need to create their own extensions to Personal Search.”

Of the innovations, a new design for issuing “Personal Search” is also noted, as well as the function of filtering it by file formats.
