How sporty are Russian Internet users?

Researchers at Romir Monitoring decided to find out how often Network users go in for sports. The results of a survey of 1,200 respondents representing the adult audience of the Network showed that there is sport in the life of every fourth (21%) Russian Internet user. Most of the respondents - 77% - answered that they do not regularly attend sports clubs and fitness centers.

At the same time, only 43% of surveyed families do not spend on sports. A quarter of families give about 500-1000 rubles per month for them (about $ 400 per year per family). Every tenth respondent answered that these expenses are about 1500-2000 rubles per month (about $ 750 per year). Another 8% of respondents admitted that sport and fitness "eat up" in the family budget of about $ 1,000 a year.

Among the respondents who attend certain sports competitions, football (43%), hockey (17%) and basketball (16%) are most popular. The top three leaders include tennis (12%), volleyball (9%) and figure skating (6%). Those who do not go to sports events explain this by a lack of time (49%), sympathy for this kind of leisure (39%), fear of fans, fans (14%). The high cost of tickets at the same time scares only 10% of respondents who do not attend sports events.
