The world's smallest A4 inkjet printer Epson WorkForce WF-100W

Epson at IFA in Berlin introduced the Epson WorkForce WF-100W miniature inkjet printer, which is the smallest A4 printer in the world (as of April 2014). In addition, today it is the only portable printer of this format with a 1.5-inch LCD screen and fully pigmented ink.

The device can print up to seven black and white and four color pages per minute, has dimensions of 309 x 154 x 61 mm and weighs 1.6 kg, so it can be easily transported in a briefcase or bag. The WF-100W has a built-in battery (connects to a USB or power outlet), with a full charge you can print up to 100 A4 sheets (with minimal page filling).

The closest competitors of the novelty are the recently announced Canon Pixma iP110 (sizes 322 x 185 x 62 mm, weight 2.0 kg) and HP Officejet 100 (sizes 348 x 175 x 84 mm, weight 2.5 kg). However, both of these models, except for the greater mass and size, do not have a display and print with combined ink: black pigment + colored aqueous dyes. WF-100W also prints with pigment only, which means that your prints will not fade, wash off with water and be smeared with a marker.

The need to make a compact printer made Epson engineers make a 2-cartridge ink collection system for the first time in a long time (if I'm not mistaken, this was the last time in Epson Stylus Photo 900 in 2003). At the same time, the print head is still part of the printer, not the cartridge, as, for example, in the HP Officejet 100 (on such two-cartridge printers it is more difficult to save).

And of course, like any modern flagship printer, the WF-100W supports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Epson IPrint cloud and E-mail Print. It is also compatible with Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint. The novelty will be on sale in November for about $ 300.
