Google Chrome: Sunset for SHA-1

That's how it happens - I wanted the best, but it turned out as always.

On September 5 of this year, Google much earlier than scheduled dates announced the “decline” of support for the encryption protocol SHA-1 (certificate signature) in Google Chrome, starting with version 39, expected in late September.

If in a nutshell, in the first quarter of 2015, with the release of Chrome version 41, connections with sites signed with a certificate with the specified algorithm will be considered unsafe.
