Next Saturday, the first stage of Formula E auto racing will take place in Beijing. About 40 speed cars from 10 teams take part in the championship. The next stages of Formula E will be held in London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Long Beach and Miami.

Since there are no gas tanks on cars with a large amount of flammable fuel, there are far fewer safety restrictions than in conventional Formula 1. Because of this, as well as in connection with the silence of cars, Formula E race cars can be held right in the center of the city. That is exactly what the organizers of the Beijing stage did. Soon the race will take place in central London.





Formula races in the center of the city is a truly unique sight that should attract tens of thousands of spectators.

Interestingly, for the first season all the participating teams, the organizers decided to use the same race cars Spark-Renault SRT_01E. In these machines, many technologies are used from Formula 1 racing, there are working groups of engineers from the teams McLaren and Williams.





Another interesting feature of auto racing - the lack of gas stations in the pit stop. The technology does not allow fast charging of car batteries, so each pilot will receive two cars. Around the middle of the race in the pit stop he will be replaced by a car.

Formula E is not only a competition, but also a test platform for testing new technologies. As in Formula 1, here car manufacturers run in the latest engineering solutions, which can then be used in commercial vehicles. In addition, Formula E should promote "clean" technology among motorsport enthusiasts.

The organizers hope that technical progress will allow very quickly to improve the performance of racing cars. Now the battery lasts only 25-30 minutes, but in the near future it will be possible to conduct the entire race entirely on one battery.
