A database has appeared on the network with mailbox addresses and passwords for 4929090 gmail.com accounts. The relevance of the database has not been verified, but more than 60% of valid pairs of mail: password are reported.
In the comments to the previous posts, users reasonably noticed that the trade in such databases is far from news, and what they say is that the noise was raised. It's hard not to agree with this, but again, the comments show that many users found their accounts in these databases, often with current passwords, after which they changed passwords and began to pay more attention to the security of their mailboxes. Therefore, I consider it not superfluous to highlight the emergence of this base in free access on the network.
Judging by the fact that there are databases from many services, the messages from Yandex and Mail.ru are true, and this is not the result of a leak, but the consequences of phishing attacks, malware actions, the use of weak passwords and other security errors when working with mail by the users themselves. Therefore, it is recommended for preventive purposes to change passwords in your mailbox, even if it does not use the services yandex.mail, mail.ru or gmail.
