EU divides radio frequencies
At a meeting of the relevant European Union office on Thursday, it was announced its intention to allocate a special frequency range for wireless devices operating over short distances, such as, for example, garage door control panels and, most importantly, RFID chips.
Experts predict that sales of such devices in 2009 will exceed € 25 billion. The introduction of well-defined frequencies for their work should give an additional impetus to the development of both the manufacturing industry and retail sales. For example, the Wal-Mart supermarket chain saved € 6.4 billion from the time RFID technologies began to be used instead of paper documentation to account for goods in it.
