Google has created a virtual museum of Chinese history and art.

In 2012, Google created a non-profit project Google Cultural Institute . This is a multimedia encyclopedia, and very extensive, where you can find a lot of materials, including historical photographs, videotapes, manuscripts and everything else.

At the very beginning of the project’s life, it was planned that the encyclopedia materials would cover the period from 1905 to our time. Now the project has expanded considerably; moreover, virtual museums have appeared in the Google Cultural Institute. So, recently opened a virtual gallery-museum of Chinese history, which houses 1,400 exhibits. The gallery covers a period of 5,000 years.

All exhibits are scanned, photographed and posted on the site with relevant reference materials. In order to do all this, the authors of the project spent a lot of time and effort. Suffice it to say that the exhibited virtual exhibits are collected from 48 different exhibitions and museums from around the world. There are, for example, exhibits devoted to the “Opium Wars”.

There are also exhibits that demonstrate both the birth of Chinese art and its modern development. The collection includes all the most indicative examples of modern Chinese art - for connoisseurs, of course.

The exhibits are presented both individually and as whole panoramas , which make it possible to view individual sectors of the museums of Chinese history and art.

This whole project is an attempt to bring together the disparate elements of a single system of history and culture of various peoples into a single whole. After all, many exhibits (belonging not only to Chinese history, of course), are scattered around exhibitions and museums around the world. Often, only specialists know where one or another important exhibit can be found, and even that is often difficult to obtain such information even for venerable scientists. Using the same modern technology, you can provide access to any person to any exhibits anywhere in the world.
