The Google-owned YouTube video service, without much ado, launched the crowdfunding function announced at the June VidCon conference in Anaheim.
According to DigitalMusicNews, the function called Fan Funding has become available only to users in Australia, Japan, Mexico and the USA (registration for beta testing for them is
here ), but it will appear in a number of other countries in the near future.

After the blogger goes through the registration procedure, a project support button appears on the page of his channel. You can donate from one dollar to five hundred per day. Service fee is $ 0.21 from each donation + another 5%. YouTube notes in its blog that the authors will be able to get financial support from their subscribers to create new videos, clips or films, and not to achieve any other goals.
Experts highly appreciate the chances of YouTube with its billion users in competing against crowdfunding platforms like KickStarter, IndieGogo and Patreon.
In Russia, this service function does not work yet, but start-ups can still be supported through a number of crowdfunding platforms and
the VCStart collective investment platform . Over three weeks of pre-launch operation, more than 250 projects and 2,800 potential investors were registered on the platform. 33 projects were moderated and open to users, and some of them have already attracted the first investments.
