Sharp is planning to release a
UMPC , which will be the first device of this type running on the new
Intel Atom Centrino processor .
The D4 WS016SH UMPC will run on Windows Vista Home Premium, has
5-inch touch-sensitive main display (1024 x 600) with LED-backlit, QWERTY-keyboard, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB hard drive and microSD slot, TV tuner, 2 megapixel camera, supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR . It will all work on a 1.33 GHz Atom Z520 processor. With a size of 192.3 × 84 × 25.9 mm, the weight of a portable computer is not much, not enough 470 g. The cost of D4 will be about $ 900, but it can be purchased only in Japan, at least at the initial stage.
