Greetings to habrazhiteli.

I think many of you read my articles on Caesar reverse ( tyts , tyts , tyts , another one about android ), I really like this game, and the desire to run it on modern computers prompted me to do research, and subsequently programming my implementation . And although now there is an original Caesar on gog.com, and the startup problem on modern PCs was solved, I went a little further, and made a port on linux, mac, android, and haiku, in plans to port to other platforms: so a little hobby grew into full project .

But, of course, not everything is so simple, the owners of the brand began to write. My project was and will continue to be non-commercial and open source, but to launch a remake you need the textures of the original game (i.e., you first need to buy from them), they still don’t want to agree on any.
And now I'm standing at a crossroads - spit on years of work or risk bringing the idea to mind and maybe it is possible to do something beautiful. And if I’ll draw programming myself ñ it’sn’t sweet to live without design, there’sn’t any brush and pencil enthusiasts yet.
As a result, I plan to launch a campaign on indiegogo, in which I want to raise funds for creating a game in the spirit of Caesar, with new graphics, with the ability to connect old campaigns from the original game. I would like to get the opinion of the community - whether to continue the work? Does it make sense to start all this or do more earthly things?

I understand that this fundamentally changes the situation, it is one thing to open for free, and quite another to collect money.

And I would also like to get intelligible advice from a lawyer, is it possible to use screenshots from my game when starting a campaign, but the graphics, which are still used from the original Caesar. There is no money for the designer yet.

Thank you for your feedback and advice.
