Today we made quite important changes on the site, as a result of which the karma of many users was reset.
Don't panic, clarifications under the cut.

What happened?

Forced dumping of votes for karma were two groups of users.

The first group, the most numerous, are those users who have not previously posted publications on Habré, but have enough karma to influence the rating of publications and the karma of other users. As a rule, karma was earned either in the comments, or through an acquaintance (asked friends to vote), or somehow, legally (a famous person) or not (bought votes from radishes - bad users). After resetting, these users cannot vote for the publications, comments and karma of other members of the community.

To earn karma and get the opportunity to influence other users and their content, you need to post a publication in order to pass a kind of test - the community will decide whether to give the user the opportunity to influence others.

We understand that this innovation will appeal to far from everyone, however, we pursued them exclusively noble goals - it is intended to increase the value of being the author in the community and will give an additional advantage to those who create interesting content. If you want to evaluate the authors, then become the author yourself.

Owners of the “Commentator” badge without published posts may not be worried - the community has managed to evaluate your commentary contribution, therefore your karma has remained the same.

The second group is users whose karma was minted for various reasons: published an unsuccessful text, said rudeness / stupidity or joked unsuccessfully, expressed obscenely, trolled and so on - anything can happen. We believe that we must be able to forgive mistakes, so we hope that after resetting, many users (rightly or unfairly) will begin “from scratch” and become part of a huge community of authors.

On the happy owners of the badge "Troll" zero does not apply.

What else?

In connection with the reset, there were changes in the thresholds of the necessary votes to perform certain actions:

- You can vote for comments with a karma of at least 5 (previously it was at least 10);
- You can vote for the rating of a publication or the karma of another user with a karma of at least 10 (it used to be at least 15);
- The threshold for publication of a publication from the hub in Lenta has been reduced from +7 to +5 points.
