Digest: ReactOS or how we about ... code this summer

Frankly speaking, usually in the summer the development stops and almost stops for obvious reasons (the absolute majority of the project developers live north of the Tropic of Cancer ), but as it turned out, not this time.

• Gigaherz is working at a booming pace to complete the implementation of the new explorer. Updates to his developer diary appear almost weekly. The guy did not even stop an accident in the kitchen when he scalded his hand with hot oil.

• Through the efforts of the Zefklop developer, the NtProtectVirtualMemory function appeared in the memory manager. As a result, the stable operation of Oracle / Sun JAVA and programs using it, including development environments, became possible.

• The driver of UniATA ATA-devices was again improved, the list of supported hardware was expanded to more than 10 positions, a bug was fixed that blocked work with the Marvell 9123-based controller. I had to spend a lot of time debugging to track down the kernel error. More precisely, the most effort was spent trying to start this debugging, the matter was complicated by the irregular arrangement of the com-port pins on the motherboard under test, a broken cable and a buggy usb-com adapter. independently download and add to any iso ReactOS by replacing the file in the editor.
  
  Thanks to these improvements, the live distribution of ReactOS runs on 80% of modern laptops equipped with built-in optical disc drives.
