During the tests, the Falcon 9-R prototype exploded.

During a test flight in the US state of Texas, a prototype of the reusable Falcon 9-R launch vehicle exploded. This rocket was designed in a private California company SpaceX. No one was injured in the explosion.

The test launch took place at the McGregor Science and Technology Center, where 250 people are employed. During the flight, anomalies were detected in the rocket’s engines, automatics worked, and in the first seconds after the launch, the Falcon 9-R exploded.

The rocket had three engines. She had to take off first, and then return to the launch pad by analogy with the Grasshopper rocket, created earlier.
