Sproutling system consists of two parts. The first is a bracelet, made of hypoallergenic plastic, which is put on the child’s foot. The developers claim that the bracelet does not cause any negative feelings to the child. The bracelet has several sensors, including a heart rate monitor, an accelerometer, and a temperature sensor.

The second part is the base station, which houses several more sensors and a small camera. The station determines the level of noise, temperature and humidity of the room, the level of illumination of the room.
