More SSD practical and different: AMD launches its own line of solid-state drives



AMD has already prepared for release its own SSD, intended for installation in high-performance systems, including gaming PCs. AMD's SSD line is called the Radeon R7.

The first representatives of the line will be the Radeon R7 120G, Radeon R7 240G and Radeon R7 480G models with a capacity of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB, respectively. The production technology is 19 nm chips from Toshiba (A19nm Toshiba Multi Level Cell (MLC)) and Indilinx Barefoot 3 M00 controller.

The size of the drives is 2.5 inches, Serial ATA 3.0 interface (bandwidth up to 6 Gbit / s).







In general, great news - after all, the more manufacturers of SSD, so hopefully, prices will fall faster and models will be updated. Unfortunately, while the price of the presented drives is unknown, but it is unlikely to be too low.
