Ractiv Touch +: a promising analogue of Leap Motion

On Habré more than once and not two mentioned the system of touch-gesture control of a PC, called Leap Motion. Of course, such an interesting technology could not but cause the appearance of analogs, and recently the Ractiv Touch + system appeared on the market.

This system, consisting of a small device, resembling a webcam, and appropriate software, allows any surface to be turned into an analogue of a touch display. At the same time, Ractiv Touch + understands gestures, and does it quite well.

Of course, there may be drawbacks that are not shown by developers. But, apparently, the system really can do a lot, especially if you take into account the moment with recognition of the image of the projector, where the speaker identifies separate buttons.



The position of the palm and fingers is determined using two cameras, which transmit a three-dimensional image to the corresponding software. Well, the software is already analyzing and responding as needed. Work with the system is possible in the dark, for which the “camera” was equipped with additional sensors with LED.

At the same time, the system allows using any horizontal surface as a touch surface, or even doing without it, using ordinary gestures (a combination of which, however, you still need to remember).

At the end of August, the first batch of such devices will be shipped, at a price of $ 75. In general, Ractiv Touch + is worth the money, how do you think?
