The new generation prefers IM clients, while the “veterans” still use e-mail.
According to a survey conducted by the Associated Press news agency in conjunction with the Internet provider America Online , about 75% of the adult respondents who installed ICQ on their computers write instant messages, not email messages. But the overwhelming majority of teenagers (also about 75%) love ICQ and its various analogues. At the same time, more than half of young users of IM clients send over 25 messages per day, while three-quarters of the “elderly” reach this indicator with difficulty.
