The production of counterfeit bills for Hollywood studios involved in two private firms. One of them is Independent Studio Services (ISS). Representatives of this company complain about the exceptional idiocy of the US Secret Service staff. For example, for the movie “Rush Hour 2” in 2001, they produced bills with the words “In Dog We Trust” instead of the original inscription “In God We Trust”, replaced the main photo and another 28 characteristics of the bills. This did not save them from persecution. Agents said that the bill is still too similar to the real one: it is of the same color and the denomination is indicated on it.
By law, the Counterfeit Detection Act of 1992 , a copy of a bill must be 1) the size of either less than 75% or more than 150% of the present; 2) printed on one side only; 3) be monochrome.

For the movie “Rush Hour 2”, they made bills in denominations of $ 100 million, observing all legal norms, that is, in accordance with all the above-mentioned requirements. Nevertheless, the Secret Service broke into the ISS office, seized computers and finished goods. In total, bills with a face value of $ 200 million were seized. Since the production of these bills costs the ISS about $ 8 for $ 10,000, the losses are quite significant.
Moreover, the Secret Service subsequently forced the ISS to destroy all stocks of finished goods (with a nominal value of several billion dollars).
Another company that produced counterfeit notes for Hollywood studios, Earl Hays Press, was subjected to the same repressions.
As a result, the studios had to radically review their work. Now, when demonstrating stacks of bills, there are clean pieces of paper inside, and on the edges are real bills. This practice is consistent with the law.
