Who cuts kilometer-high ice floes in Antarctica?

Filming is from an airplane, the cabin is shining ahead, based on this you can imagine how high the ice floe is.
Looking at these shots, it is hard to believe that ice can be so pounded in such volumes.
What is it all the same in Antarctica?
