Roskomnadzor approved methods of counting visitors to sites

Roskomnadzor in the framework of the execution of the so-called law on bloggers approved the method for determining the number of visitors to sites or pages of sites on the Internet. The methodology was approved "in order to comply with the law, according to which sites or pages of sites with publicly available information and with attendance of more than 3 thousand users per day should be included in the relevant register maintained by Roskomnadzor."

According to the methodology, the number of visitors to the site or page of the site will be determined by counting one-time hits of unique users during the day. At the same time, the requested page must be fully loaded in the user's browser for a period of at least 15 seconds, reports Roskomnadzor.

Roskomnadzor is entitled to receive information about the number of visitors from the organizers of the dissemination of information (Internet sites), and from the bloggers themselves. In addition, the necessary information can be obtained from the owners of resources that provide services for counting users, and from open public information resources that provide information on the number of users. Special software of Roskomnadzor may also be involved.
