Samsung introduced the flagship UHD-monitor 9th series U32D970Q

Samsung Electronics has announced the release of the flagship ultra-high-resolution monitor (3840x2160) - models of Samsung U32D970Q. The new professional UHD display with a diagonal of 31.5 "is specially designed for those whose professional activities are connected with graphics, photos, video, and design systems. The new device boasts a PLS-matrix, the resolution is equivalent to four Full HD monitors installed, and the number of colors displayed Samsung U32D970Q exceeds the standard monitor 64 times.

The new monitor is designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding representatives of those professions where the perfect elaboration of image details and flawless color rendition without distortion is important. 10-bit PLS-matrix U32D970Q uses more than 8 million pixels. For comparison, in standard Full HD monitors the number of pixels is a little over 2 million. The new Samsung monitor is capable of displaying more than 1 billion colors, while an ordinary Full HD monitor can display a little more than 16 million colors.

Samsung U32D970Q supports the use of 11 color spaces, including sRGB, AdobeRGB, DICOM, DCI and others. It not only provides full coverage of the sRGB range, but also guarantees 100% coverage of Adobe RGB - a professional color space that is the standard for commercial printing. For advanced color correction purposes, the monitor supports DualColor mode, which allows you to output two color spaces simultaneously - for example, to compare images on a network and on print.

The monitor has a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. U32D970Q is equipped with four digital video ports for connecting additional devices: HDMI 1.4 (3840x2160, 30 Hz), DVI-DL, as well as two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors (3840x2160, 60 Hz). When using two sources at the same time, the monitor will output the signal from both devices thanks to the Picture-in-Picture function: the small window image will be reproduced in the original resolution up to Full HD (1920x1080), while the main picture will remain in the UHD format. UHD Upscale function will improve the clarity and image quality up to the maximum possible resolution of 4K (3840x2160). In addition, the new feature Quad Picture-by-Picture allows you to work simultaneously with all four sources of connection: using this function, it became possible to simultaneously display images from four additional devices in Full HD resolution. The monitor is also equipped with a USB hub for 4 USB3.0 connectors for connecting peripherals, and thanks to the USB Super Charging function, you can charge mobile devices much faster.

The user also has the ability to self-calibrate using special software to adjust the gamma, the uniformity of the backlight, and white balance. Calibration is also supported using third-party calibrators.

The multifunctional stand of the new monitor gives the user complete freedom to adjust the screen: adjusting the height position, tilting, rotating in the plane of the table, setting to portrait mode - everything is designed for maximum convenience when working with the image. Adjustment options imply an enhanced ability to position the monitor in space for a variety of creative and functional purposes. The monitor has a VESA-compatible mount, so that it can also be mounted on the wall.

On the prices for the presentation of the Samsung U32D970Q did not say anything, but on going on sale it is known only that this will happen this fall.
