"Roskosmos" briefly lost control over the satellite with geckos on board

Launched from Baikonur on July 19, the Foton-M4 satellite stopped responding to commands from Earth on the fourth orbit around the planet. Now communication with the satellite is one-way - the internal systems of the satellite are in order, and the telemetry from there comes in regularly.

According to the Independent, the mission of the biosatellite with five geckos (four females and a male), fruit flies and seeds of plants on board was the study of sexual activity in weightlessness. Another launch task was to grow semiconductor crystals in the absence of gravity. Both projects are running smoothly.

UPD Communication restored . According to the plan, the satellite should land in two months in the Orenburg region, reports TASS.
