Yandex Cup again "took" a programmer from Minsk

Yandex announced the final results of the seventh Open Cup of Russia in Internet search . “The man who found it all” for the second year in a row was the 22-year-old Minsk programmer Igor Makhanek - he is the first two-time title holder in the history of the Cup. Igor will receive the main prize of 601 thousand rubles.

The second place in the 1950 Cup competition was taken by Oleg Morenkov from the Swiss city of Basel, and the third - by the Muscovite Andrei Gavrilov.

“To win, the participants of the super final had to answer six questions,” reports Yandex. “Igor Makhanka needed only 8 minutes and 3 seconds, that is, less than a minute and a half to ask a question.” The most difficult thing was to find the “First Profession of the Russian Arthur Haley” and “The email address of the professor who did not answer Erland Lou to the question whether there is time” - only the champion could “take” these questions in the allotted time.

The Super Final Cup was held live from the concert studio of the first youth television channel O2TV. The game was watched by about a hundred fans in the studio and hundreds of thousands of TV viewers. During the broadcast, viewers were also asked to search the Web for answers to some questions and get souvenirs from Yandex.

Recall, the Yandex Cup is an annual Internet search competition. In addition to the "big" Cup, competitions on the Yandex methodology are held in the regions of Russia, as well as abroad - in Belarus, Ukraine, Israel and the USA. This year, the search competition for the first time went beyond the borders of the Russian language - the first foreign language Cup is in Norway.
