Lenovo IdeaPad U8 - First MID

Lenovo is preparing to launch its Ideapad U8 , a device classified as MID . In fact, these are the same UMPCs , but designed for a wider range of users (unlike UMPCs, which are mainly aimed at business users), work on a more “lightweight” OS, for example, Linux, and are more optimized for multimedia and Internet -functions
Ideapad U8 was introduced at Intel IDF in Shanghai and, as announced at the event, is equipped with the latest Intel processor - Atom .
The main controls will be a 4.8-inch touchscreen display and a special manipulator operating on the principle of an optical mouse, only the sensor reads finger movements. The device is equipped with a full-fledged media player, and is able to work with electronic documents. Built-in combined GSM / EDGE / 3G communication module provides access to the Internet. In addition, the novelty is equipped with a Wi-Fi-adapter and GPS-navigator. Regarding the operating system there is no information, however, judging by the video, it will not be Windows, but, most likely, the next kind of Linux. On the cost of the Lenovo ideapad U8 also no information yet.
