Armed robbers robbed Samsung plant for $ 6 million, stealing 40 thousand devices

Samsung has experienced a big heist that sounds like a script from some movie. But it has nothing in common with Hollywood, and the company has lost production for 6 million, writes The Verge. More than 20 robbers took part in a carefully planned robbery that occurred late on Monday at the Samsung factory in Brazil. The group hijacked a company bus and headed towards the plant, capturing eight employees on the way. Taking badges from the workers, armed thieves took two of them with them as hostages.

They broke into the factory and more than three hours filled the truck with phones, laptops and other Samsung branded electronics. And we are talking not even about one or two trucks. A group of thieves was able to load more than 40,000 devices into seven trucks. Not a single worker was hurt during the robbery; some were just taken away from their phones so that they would not call the police.

Local authorities and Samsung are now reviewing video surveillance footage and other possible clues that could help to understand how it turned out to successfully turn a robbery of this magnitude. According to one version, the robbers had assistants among the factory employees. "We are fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and are doing everything possible so that this does not happen again," said a Samsung spokesman in a comment for the Associated Press.
