By 2009, the market for online advertising "beat" radio advertising

According to ZenithOptimedia , in 2007, online advertising expects 28.2% growth, which is seven times higher than the average for the market. At the same time, the volume of the global advertising market will grow moderately - by 3.9%.

“A dramatic rise continues on the Internet,” ZenithOptimedia experts said, according to Media Revolution . “It took this type of media 11 years to“ beat ”long-standing competitors: cinema (back in 1997) and outdoor advertising (in 2006).” It is expected that by 2009, spending by advertisers on the Internet will exceed their spending on radio, which will make the Web the fifth largest advertising media.

Internet penetration in the most mature markets already amounts to about 70%. But, based on global indicators, this proportion is equal to 17%. Even in developed countries, the Internet gets too few advertising budgets - if we consider its audience and the number of hours it spent on the Web, the volume of budgets deserves to be more significant.

By 2009, experts predict, Internet advertising will be able to accumulate 9% of the total advertising budget of companies worldwide and exceed 10% in the markets of Norway, Sweden and the UK. By the end of 2009, according to their forecasts, the threshold of 10% will be passed on ten markets: in Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, Norway, Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
