The company has already invested in similar projects: in 2010, Google participated in the international telecommunications project “Southeast Asia-Japan Cable”, which was aimed at strengthening information security in the South Asian region. Also, Goolge has been buying up abandoned fiber-optic lines for quite a long time and, by now, according to researchers, it already owns more than 160,000 km of fiber-optic networks around the world.
If this pace of development of its own network infrastructure continues, Google will soon be able to enter the market of providing access to the Internet in many parts of the world.
