Design and scope of delivery

In the box are a tablet, power adapter (5.2 V, 1.35 A), USB-MicoUSB cable, instruction.

The screen glass has an oleophobic coating that makes it difficult for fingerprints to appear. Along the edges of the screen are two stereo speakers. ASUS FonePad 7 is one of the few tablets that allows you to listen to music and watch videos with full stereo sound without connecting headphones. Above (when the portrait orientation of the tablet) is the front camera, proximity sensors and light.

MicroUSB connector is on the left at the bottom. There is also a microphone hole.

At the top there is an audio jack.

On the left side - MicroSIM socket, on the right - MicroSD socket, power and volume buttons.

On the back side is the main camera, protruding 1.2 mm (taking into account the camera, the thickness of the tablet is almost 12 mm). The case is glossy and gets dirty very quickly.

Software

The smartphone uses Android 4.3 with a standard launcher.

One more to the left is added to the three usual screen control buttons. It opens the quick launch menu where you can add any programs and launch them without going to the main screen.

To open the notification panel, simply “pull” it from top to bottom. The panel is narrow, not all the width of the screen in any orientation. It contains control buttons, a brightness adjustment slider, additional buttons for controlling Wi-Fi, sound and a wireless display, as well as a button for invoking the settings menu.

The system is equipped with an equalizer with presets, called from the notification panel.

There are also several power saving modes.

On the main screen are two groups of programs ASUS and Google.

The AnTuTu 4.3.3 test gives the tablet 19324 points and makes the following conclusions: “The processor is good, supports large applications and multitasking; RAM is good; 2D graphics are great; 3D graphics are excellent, supporting the smooth running of resource-intensive games. ”

Report on the equipment.

Tablet memory (16 GB) is used simultaneously for system purposes, for installing applications, and as data storage. The user is available about 11 GB.

The tablet has a high-quality IPS-screen of high resolution, 1280x800 pixels. Viewing angles are excellent, the maximum brightness is not very high, but in the room it is quite enough. Touchscreen works perfectly. The sound quality of stereo speakers is quite decent for such dimensions, but the sound is not very loud.

I checked the work of the tablet with a Beeline SIM card. 4G works, speeds are high.

The tablet can be used as a phone. The sound quality during a conversation is quite decent.

Camera

Both cameras of the tablet are not bad, although, of course, they should not be compared in quality with cameras of top smartphones.

In standby mode, the tablet consumes 5% charge per day with Wi-Fi and LTE turned on and less than one percent in the "on the plane" mode.
When watching a movie at maximum brightness, maximum sound level and “on the plane” mode, the tablet worked for just over 9 hours. Full charge time - 3 hours 40 minutes. The tablet is charged with current 1.15 A.
