Accumulating interesting information from the IT world, we occasionally encounter videos that show interesting gadgets, devices, special effects, all sorts of experiments, new developments in various fields, tests of robots and machines. But for various reasons, sharing them in our blog does not work. And the video disappears in the depths of the network and time. And we decided: we made a post with a selection of interesting videos, united by one theme. Such clips that amazed us, surprised and delighted, and we wanted to share them with you. Amazing product of machine tools. In fact, this technique is a strategically important product. At the height of the Cold War, the USSR put a lot of effort into obtaining high-precision metalworking machines. It was impossible to develop our analogs, and thanks to our today's most probable friends an embargo was imposed on the delivery of such equipment to us.
Dynamic projection on moving surfaces
Directly space technology: some (two?) Projectors project the image on two planes moving in space. They move not only in different planes, but also change the angle of inclination, rotate. In this image, which we see, is not distorted. A magnificent mathematical apparatus is behind this development, not to mention the technical component: dynamic projectors that track the position of screens in space, changing the direction and size of the beam perfectly synchronously.

Who would have thought that these huge inflatable mattresses are so structurally complex? The finished product is packaged by hand for two days, as a result, it takes up the volume of a large tourist backpack. A standard of bringing to full readiness - 25 cubic meters in less than 6 seconds.

Americans are going to equip their new promising ships in the near future with electromagnetic guns. 10-kg projectile accelerates to a speed of 7 Mach. The estimated firing range of this disc, which defeats exclusively due to its kinetic energy, will be 160 km. The cost of one projectile is $ 25,000, compared with $ 500,000— $ 1,000,000 for a rocket of a comparable range. What can I say, on the video and in numbers, everything looks very advanced. But “there is an opinion, and not only mine”, that this project is a cut in American style. He is tormented by a series of vague doubts, in particular, on the subject of ensuring satisfactory accuracy of hitting at such a huge distance for a ballistic projectile, as well as the power supply of this ship-borne BFG.
