Educational startup Coursmos attracted an investment of $ 530,000
American startup with Russian roots, Coursmos (Korsmos), developer of the micro-learning platform of the same name, attracted an investment of $ 530,000 in the course of a new round of financing. At the stage of raising funds, investors estimated Coursmos at $ 2 million. In the new round, funds came from the Venture Investment Company Imperious Group and the angel of investor Yevgeny Medvednikov.
According to the representative of the Imperious Group - Pavel Aleshin, investors see in Coursmos one of the fastest growing startups in the field of educational technologies with the potential for further rapid growth. “Instead of creating another MOOC (mass open online courses) platform, Coursmos was able to recognize that users are looking for more convenient and flexible ways to learn. They need a solution that takes into account the widespread lack of free time and attention today. ”

Coursmos was founded in 2013 by Roman Kostochka and Pavel Dmitriev during the Happy Farm Business Incubator program. Now the service is presented in the form of iOS and Android applications, as well as a full-fledged web version. In the six months since the company began operations in the United States, Coursmos has created over 1,500 online courses (6,631 micro-lessons). In total, more than 70,000 students are trained on the platform, of which 30,000 regularly return for new knowledge.
Coursmos plans to use the funding raised to expand its team and develop new features such as:
- A system of "smart" recommendations, based on the history and interests of the user;
- Improved search engine by converting video content to text;
- integration with YouTube and downloading videos from other platforms with one click;
- as well as the ability to create and edit video in the browser.
